Youth Programs

Archers of the Future

Southwest Bowhunters sponsors two major youth archery programs:  Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program, and Explore Archery.

Archery gives you and your child a community, friends to last a life-time and opportunities to travel and compete. Watch your child grow as an individual in a community that supports your child and also fosters team building. Archery is a sport that is has something to offer for everyone – join other passionate athletes and start aiming for your dreams!

Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD)

Archery is where your child participates in a sport, develops strong problem solving skills, increases their focus and determination, learns goal setting, builds confidence and creates friendships that will last a lifetime.

Whether your child's interest is purely recreational or an Olympic, Paralympic or World Championship dream, USA Archery's Youth programs are tailored to help the young archer achieve their goals.

SWBH is proud to sponsor a JOAD chapter. Young JOAD archers meet at our range on Fridays from 2:00 - 7:00 pm. For more information, contact us at

We also now have a dedicated SWBH JOAD page on our website! Go to:
